Internet Explorer is steadily losing its market share to Firefox and Google Chrome. According to data published by Net Applications, Firefox celebrated its 5th anniversary by attaining 25% market share in the First week of Nov 2009. This is a celebration time for Firefox. Despite Microsoft bundling Internet Explorer with Windows OS and Google dropping Firefox from its default list in preference to Chrome, the journey for Firefox has been only northwards. It has always been Firefox vs IE and now it is Firefox vs Chrome as well.
Firefox has become a popular option for even some of the Windows users. This is due to the fact that people at Firefox have been putting their time and effort in to refining and making the Firefox fast and slick. The speed with which Firefox has gone about bug fixing and coming out with new releases has shaken the other browsers from their complacency. But the beauty of Firefox and one single reason which has made it popular amongst the Linux as well as Windows users is the Add-ons which the browsers offers. Integration of these add-ons is seamless with the Firefox browser.
Firefox has just launched second beta version of Firefox 3.6. This claims to have around 190 bug fixes.New version appears to be fast and stable, not to say that the earlier editions were not. But the fact that many of these 190 bug fixes are user submitted, makes the Firefox 3.6 browser unique and ranked high on the acceptability curve.
No doubt IE because of its bundling with Win 7 and Vista will continue to have the advantage over its other rivals like Firefox and Chrome, but coming times will see users giving Firefox and Chrome a try.The Firefox vs IE and Firefox vs chrome story is beginning to take shape now.
