Google Chrome OS will hit MS OFFICE hard

Google Chrome logo has looked very attractive right from the moment it was launched. A spiral mix of vibrant colours, Red, Green, Yellow and Blue looks quite appealing. Google has been heading northwards on the popularity charts and over last one year it has been able to grab substantial market share amongst the web browsers. All popular browsers including IE have spent lots of time and energy in to web browsers over couple of years. Firefox, IE, Chrome and Safari have been keeping themselves up to date with the relative technological advances their competitors have been making in recent past.

Google has already started developing its Chrome in to a full fledged operating systems Linux based systems. The online documents like Google docs are going to have great future and that’s why Microsoft has also been developing online versions of their popular MS Office suite in 2010 release.

Slashdot in its one of the post titled Chrome OS Designed To Start Microsoft Death Spiral, dated 11th Aug 2009 has indicated that with easier access to web, the coming times will see people moving away from desktop applications and popularity of MS Office will dwindle. Unless of course, Microsoft as promised comes up with online versions of its popular MS Word and MS EXCEL.

  1. with the release of Google Chrome and Microsoft Bing search engine, one would expect that there would be a very stiff competition between Google and Microsoft.
