Mail Notifiers for Windows, Mac and Linux.

The Gmail Notifier is a downloadable application that alerts you whenever you have new Gmail messages.  Gmail Notifier is available for only Windows. Once the Notifier has been downloaded an icon will appear in system tray without compulsorily letting you open the browser. What Gmail Notifier does is, it sends notifications to the desktop users and does following.

These are essentially broad features of Gmail Notifier.

  • Automatically check for new messages every two minutes.
  • See a snippet of text from up to 30 unread messages.
  • Select a sound to indicate when you have new mail.
  • Make Gmail your default email application.

To use the Gmail Notifier, you need Windows 2000, Windows XP, or a more recent version of Windows. (Download the Notifier*). Mac users can also download Notifier. Gmail Notifier is still under beta and there are some issues with even Google Toolbar.

As you can see Mail Notification supports a wide range of settings and functions.

PopTray Minus is another option which is truly lightweight and can be your excellent Linux email notifier.
