facebook Facebook buys FriendFeed technologyFacebook in its effort to catch up with Twitter has acquired FriendFeed. It’s win-win deal for both of them but more so for Facebook. Twitter has over a year or so outsmarted all social networking sites. The rapid rise of Twitter has been helped to the great extent by failures of Facebook and MySpace to garner the social media space. Facebook earlier had tried to woo Twitter but failed.

Twitter has terrific speed of response. It has been observed that during last two years, people have turned to Twitter to get breaking news and updates on any big event or happening which has taken place throughout the world.

FriendFeed has been much closer to Twitter in terms of speed of response, while Facebook and MySpace have battled on different turf altogether. With Friendfeed in tow, Facebook expects to take Twitter on. The battle royale will be there for every eager web enthusiast to look forward to. Competition only brings out best amongst the rivals. Facebook with its dedicated followers supplemented by new features of FriendFeed will definitely give Twitter a tough time in “Immediacy”, more precisely updates on happenings in real time.
