E-Reader, New Amazon Kindle will work in 100 countries.
Earlier Kindle version had many drawbacks. Most noteworthy was its inability to work in countries outside US. This New Kindle, slated to hit the markets on 19th October 2009 hopes to change reading preferences throughout the world. Earlier Kindle version has already been making waves in US. The new version in addition to its wireless connectivity in some 100 odd countries shall have some other eye popping features. Aptly named “Kindle with US and International Wireless”, the product is available for $280. The earlier Kindle US version has had its price slashed from $300 to $260.
Amazon has tied up with local publishers in many countries to let Kindle buyers have the local newspapers in other countries delivered to buyers online instantly, 60 secs. Amazon’s statistics reveal that out of total books being sold, the online publications have increased their share from 35% to 48%. This definitely points to increase in Kindle buyers all around. Kindle has generated lots of interest in US, where it is available, as well other countries where it will be being launched.

But Amazon should come out with some people friendly gestures by offering exchange or buy back options to Old Kindle buyers. Earlier version Kindle owners in US and frequent traveler to boot as well will definitely feel let down by the new offerings. Amazon in a good gesture has offered exchange for Kindle sold within last 30 days.
Kindle reading experience is definitely mind blowing and it can not be compared with e-reading on iPhones or other electronic devices. The coming times would definitely see increase in Kindle sales. E-reading is comparatively cheaper and environment friendly.
