There has been growing awareness amongst IT security watchers to promote Linux for carrying out banking transactions. World over Windows OS environments are being used for carrying out all businesses be it banking or otherwise. There have been instances where malwares have been used to hack login codes of gullible users through web browsers on Windows OS.

Industry watchdogs and security analysts advocates two golden rules which can help users from getting caught in the web.

  1. First rule emphasizes that one should never click on the hyperlinks for accessing their banking sites.
  2. Second rule suggests a mandatory check on the address bar for verifying the bank’s URL.

Security experts may strongly favour Linux but the fact remains that Windows has been the most popular OS for decades and it will not be easy for people to switchover to Linux from their Windows OS. But alertness of mind and self imposed decision to check URLs before typing in username and password can go along way in securing your banking transactions.
