Recession apart, Climate change is top priority for Obama administration

Steven Chu, Noble prize winning, President-Elect Obama’s choice for Energy Secretary has vowed to limit United States dependence on foreign oil. Conservation of natural resources, making US energy independent and addressing the issues of Climate Change are Obama administration’s top priorities. Steven Chu while speaking at Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, stressed on the fact, that if we don’t change our lifestyles and continue to tread on the same path, we run the risk of dramatic disruptive changes during the lifetimes of our children and grandchildren.

Chu emphasized Obama administration’s commitment to limit and reduce green house gases. It is a well known fact that President-Elect right through his campaign trail has accorded  lot of importance to Climate Change & Green Technologies.  Obama will have to take China, India and the other two BRIC countries along with him and eke out mutually agreed path, in view of past so many failures in arriving at consensus between developing and developed nations.
