youtube YouTube Virtual Web Symphony turns real consultingLondon and San Francisco symphonies and the Berlin, Hong Kong and New York philharmonic orchestras formed the juries and picked up 200 finalists which were put in to vote by YouTube subscribers. At the end 90 musicians from 30 odd countries were selected for First YouTube Symphony Orchestra. Each of the aspiring participants was asked to submit a video performance on famous Chinese composer’s Tan Dun’s composition, specially prepared for this occasion.

Conductor Michael Tilson Thomas is all excited at the prospect of so many musicians coming from all parts of the world for this special occasion. Orchestra will feature 26 different instruments and accompanying musicians with age profile from 17 to 55 years. Many of the finalists who may not have played their instruments are dusting off their skills and fine-tuning their musical instruments. The participating members will be put through three days of master classes and rehearsals. The final performance will be on April 15 at Carnegie Hall and the compiled Video will uploaded on YouTube site on 16th April.

The event will be classical case symbolizing a Virtual Web Symphony turning real.
