PC makers now have extra four months to sell Windows XP. Microsoft, it is reliably learnt, has extended the deadline for phasing out of Windows XP from Jan 31st to May 30th 2009. Microsoft is extending this option to small PC builders and resellers who are in a position to place their order by Jan 31st 2009 and shall be taking deliveries by May 30th 2009.
However this will not be the end of Windows XP. Even after May 2009, Windows XP will continue to be available on ultra low cost PCs till June 2010. Though Microsoft has come out with Vista SP1 which has fixed most of the bugs in Vista OS but for some users XP still remain the first choice. With the launch of Windows 7, Microsoft hopes to build upon its Vista experience and offer a much improved OS. At last, XP diehards have reason to rejoice.
