Cloud computing is gradually coming around. We like it or not the coming times will definitely see cloud computing arriving on IT firmament. The good old Relational Database which has helped web developers to build some great applications, it is believed, may be on its last few breaths. Probably Relational database may not be able to handle cloud loads. But certainly, it is not yet doomed.
There will be a large chunk of users in the computing industry who would not like jump on to the cloud wagon. They would like to ensure safety and security of their data, which cloud probably will not be able to provide 100%. There will be some issues related to data being readily accessible to a third party. Cloud computing will not be successful in initial years. Users will wait and watch for system to get mature. Web applications, employing Relational databases will continue to thrive. This may even sound music to Microsoft who are quite apprehensive of cloud computing and Google leveraging it to the hilt.
