In these uncertain times, people are generally resorting to inspirational and motivational literature. This is evident from the brisk sale of inspirational books of famous authors. Psychologists feel that this is probably the right time for introspection and course correction. People should analyze their strengths and weaknesses. And should take some time out to hone and dust off their skills.
A computer professional may invest his time and money in new technologies and undertake some professional certification courses. Industry professionals may also indulge in trying out some new venture or just picking up some freelancing stuff from either freelancer.com or elance.com, two of the known portals offering freelancing work.
America has seen over the years that troubled times have been the perfect incubation phases when major names symbolizing American free enterprise were born. Present times may be tough for some but these times offer perfect opportunities for some others to grow and launch their own ventures. I was reading a blog two days back on US immigrants and their role in shaping up majority of Silicon valley start ups in past few decades.
These may not be best of the times in entire world. But like it has been in past, these times will also pass away. The important thing at this time is to stay positive and utilize this period for skill up gradation and venturing out on your own.
