All of us who are in to project monitoring and scheduling might have either used or must be aware of the MS Project and Primavera and their respective functionalities. No doubt Primavera is a necessity for very complex and large infrastructural projects and MS Projects is also equally good but these two project management tools comes with a heavy price tag.
The reason for their being priced so heavily is their ability to handle many complex projects simultaneously. But there are many organizations who are not that big. But still these organizations have to depend upon either MS Projects or Primavera for their project management tasks.
But I would say not any more. Gantter is a wonderful tool to manage your your projects management worries. Gantter project files are saved as XML files and they can be easily imported or exported in to MS Project software tool. In fact vice versa one easily import any MS Project file in to Gantter and you can start your project management work right away. Gantter gets opened through a URL and therefore there is no need to download any software on to your computer. Only the XML files gets stored on to your computer.
If you are at a place where you can’t find your organization’s network but you have stored your files on your Laptop then you can simple get yourself hooked through Gantter and start working on your projects.
For small and medium size companies who can not afford costly project management software like MS Project and Primavera, Gantter has started doing yeomen service. Big clients warrants their project scheduling to be done in MS Project. But small and medium organizations shy away from purchasing the licensed version. In that scenario you can schedule your project in Gantter and then you can easily export your project to MS Project tool.

Small companies do not have to buy MS Project or Primavera. There are also other tools with a more affordable price. One of them is RationalPlan:

Yup! I fully agree. But there are some big companies who specifies the requirement of submission of PERT network/Gant Chart in MS Project/ Primavera in their contract or bid document. My observation relates to that.
