It was leap year which caused June glitches – says Microsoft.
Microsoft has admitted on its June website that it was leap year bug in the internal clock driver of 30-gigabyte Zune model which caused malfunctions. The statement posted on late Wednesday, Microsoft stated that the bug will be attended to within next 24 hours. Year 2008 had 366 days and since the 30-gigabyte Zune model was launched in 2006, it was its first brush with a leap year. The company had given a specific time after which they stated that system will work without any problem.( Noon GMT on January 1, 2009 that’s 7 a.m. Eastern or 4 a.m. Pacific time).
