Is Copyscape error proof?
Copyscape is one of the very popular software developed on Google API to check and arrest plagiarism. Copyscape is being used by content writers and publishers throughout the world to review the content before it is getting published on the web or the print media. But the fact is Copyscape can only check the online content. Further, today there are many article re-writing software available through which one can circumvent the copyscape policing software.
But those who are engaged in such acts should ask themselves whether “articles re-write” software helps in furthering their writing career. The answer is emphatic “No”. Though your modus operandi, you are just getting tagged as one of the many writers who copy, mould and then re-mould the content. Copyscaping an article just does not assure you about the originality of the content. Even many a times, a 100% fully copyscaped article has been found to be a plagiarized version of its original masterpiece. Just to generate short term revenue, article writing associates take recourse to these “article rewrites”. By doing so they are just killing the web space through their unwarranted deeds. As responsible world netizens, we must fight plagiarism in all forms and take up cudgels against any such work which is happening around us.
To check plagiarism the first search engines can also be used quite effectively. Sometimes they are more reliable.
I personally use the http://www.copygator.com website to find duplicated content. To me it has a number of benefits over copyscape:
1. it’s automated and brings me results instead of me searching for duplicated content. All i had to do was submit my feed and it started monitoring my feed showing me who’s republished my articles on the web.
2. i get notified by email so it contacts me when it finds copies of my articles online.
3. i use their image badge feature to alert me directly on my website when my content is being lifted.
4. it’s a free service as opposed the “per page” cost of copyscape/copysentry.
