Implementation of CRM brings with it best practices prevailing in the market. But too much of standardization may also lead to lots of problems and issues which could have been very easily handled otherwise. Organization may lose its inherent strength, age old work ethics and culture. So for bigger organization, customized CRM generally at times has proved to be counter productive. These organizations lose their persona and lose their stature in the corporate world.

A hosted application is normally recommended for small enterprises while for bigger corporate giants a customized solution is always preferred. Implementation of a customized application tries to maintain the original face of an organization. Customized web solution tries to bring some sort of standardization in the approaches.

Customized or for that matter hosted CRM should not be implemented in one go. Every introduction of its sub modules has to be followed by a stabilization phase. Implementation of all sub modules in one go may lead to chaos. Training is another issue which is of utmost importance in both hosted as well other forms CRM. Employees should be trained to understand the intricacies and in addition should be in a position to appreciate the long term benefits.
