Google App Engine application blocks TweetNews.
The way TweetNews was getting traffic over last few days must have really made its creator, Vik Singh, quite happy. TweetNews, the way it was conceived, it was meant to synergise the freshness of Twitter, Yahoo’s BOSS with Google App Engine integration. The App engine limits were reached soon and the application was blocked.
But TweetNews is an excellent creation and a potential winner, if it can be improved further. Need to create an application was felt when it was noted that during major events and happenings, Twitter, though gave very interesting leads but associated URLs and news items were sometimes found irrelevant.
The search engine algorithms work on many factors including links which take sometime to build up. So freshness will always get compromised in PageRank algorithms. Tweetnews employed freshness of Twitter with BOSS to give Real Time Search. However to make this API stable and perfect, lots of work is still needed. But definitely it is a potential winning idea.
