Malaysian blog TechARP.com has reported about Microsoft distributing free copies of Windows 7 for all users buying Vista after 1st July 2009. This may even be a promotional game by MSN to pep up Vista sales. There have been thousands of users who have decided to downgrade their OS to XP after buying Vista pre-installed computers. Vista has not been able to replace XP. Even Microsoft has acknowledged that. MSN has even extended the XP support for this very precise reason.
We had opined earlier that MSN should distribute Windows 7 free to all Vista buyers as a Samaritan gesture. Much maligned Vista needs total recall and once Windows 7 is commercially launched after plugging all the loopholes which Vista has had, people will immediately switchover to Windows 7. It is expected that Windows 7 will be much like XP. Emphasis will be on low resource utilization and a permanent end to irritating security notifications. TechARP has been quite right on their earlier predictions about MSN. We hope this may also be just true.
