TechCrunch reports about Facebook pulling off its Polls link true.
TechCrunch writer Robin Wauters was quick to spot that Facebook has quietly pulled off its business tool Polls from its site. Polls have in all probability been able to generate lots of statistics and useful information for their users all these years. Significantly the data was not free. Facebook used to charge some initial registration fee after that each data entry was clocked and some amount was charged. With Facebook’s huge user bank, Polls certainly were a great way to record and tabulate demographic preferences for marketers. However, the reason why Facebook pulled it of, is still a mystery.
There were some reports over criticism of their pricing but certainly these reports were not so significant that they could have led to Facebook taking Polls off their social networking site. The reason is still unknown. The Facebook Polls blogs will have something more to share on this developement.
