If your answer is yes, you are not alone. We all have been hit by multitasking syndrome and find ourselves in unenviable position where pending work and commitments are much more than what we can humanely do. Our daily grind begins right early in the morning when we step out of our beds. We find we have so much unfinished tasks on our head and list keep on growing and growing. At times, we make a sincere effort to list them down one by one and hope that we would be able to finish all pending assignments. But story doesn’t end here. A week or so passes by and we again wake up and do the listing down activity once again. But knowing fully well in our hearts of hearts that probably next week or month we would be sitting again and mulling over how to organize our jobs. No one is perfect. We will fail some times and on the other hand will taste success the other times. But the pursuit to perfection has to be never ending.
Last week I was interacting with a bunch of college graduate students. They were lamenting that Internet has cut them out from the world. It has made them recluse and introverts. One section of the group differed in opinion over the topic but the general perception was that students are finding lesser and lesser hours to interact with the world. They are spending 70% of their day hours sitting in front of computer and looking forward towards the messages from social media sites. Pressing of refresh buttons to check on to the emails and other messages is nothing but wastage of productive hours. Internet has to be used judiciously. Work to limit your Internet hours.
Aimlessly surfing over the net consumes our productive time which we could have otherwise utilized in finishing off the tasks in the pending lists. Now how do you find out whether you are good at organizing things or not. Most of your work is disorganized. The answer to this question is quite simple. Just look around. Is the table on which you are sitting and working is in shape? All your papers are neatly filed and placed. Your wallet and office bag is having only the relevant papers. All old payables have been neatly filed and tucked away in the folders.
The lighter you travel chances are more organized you are.
