Dictionary for Idioms.
IdiomDictionary has a domain name which exactly tells what the site does. Very rarely one can find a site which has a name which means what the website stands for. Site is repository of some 5000 odd idioms and their meanings. The meanings are well thought out, simple and concise.
Many other alternatives are there on the internet. OneLook is one such option which lets you search for the idiom directly. But one unique IdiomDictonary feature is the “Nearby Terms” list; it’s like a thesaurus just for idioms. Supposing you have an idiom in mind but you are wary of using it as it sounds a bit strongly worded. It is there that the “Nearby Terms” features comes in handy.
Site does have some drawback as it does not “Reverse Search” but with growing popularity, this feature would definitely get added. These two sites are a must in the bookmark list of writers, bloggers who earn living through writing.
