Cleaner Inbox

What’s the size of your Inbox? Someone would ask why is that so important. A bulkier inbox doesn’t represent that you work a lot rather is points to your disorganized way of working. Having important documents downloaded and kept in neat folders makes more sense as compared to documents which are always there in your inbox lying under heaps of emails some of which you will never ever get to see again.

There are some well researched ways to make your life simpler and emailing lot more easier and less time consuming. You may not admit but most of us keep returning back to our email client many times throughout the day. And once we receive these emails we don’t dispose them off right away. We keep them in our inbox hoping to make use of information some day. We would just list our four important ways which should make your online life smooth.

  1. Never open your email client first thing in the morning when you sit n your desk. When you do that you fail to prioritize other important things which you had planned for the day. When you start your day, just list your tasks one by one and start finishing then one by one.
  2. Don’t set email alerts on your desktop/laptop. This would be a major distraction as you would lose your concentration the moment you see an email alert on your desktop.
  3. Trash your junk emails the moment you receive them.  Don’t set a day or a time of the day to clean your junk mails. The moment you see them just trash them.
  4. Have just one folder, Archive. Having too many folders in your email would definitely make your inbox heavy. Though some would say that it helps in locating old messages but it has been observed that if you take out the important things out of emails and store them in different folders, then that would make more sense. Attend to your mails right in the first instant. In case you need to revert back just tag them and attend to them as early as you can.
