Bing arrives

These may yet be early days but Bing looks improved and better than Live search or any other similar product from MSN’s stable. Microsoft had been desperately trying to cut in to Google’s monopoly for quite some time. But even after much hyped overtures to second placed Yahoo and then deciding to go solo, Microsoft had found it difficult to improve upon its on-line search market share.

Bing was expected and Microsoft had been working on it for quite sometime. Some of eager enthusiast had named Microsoft’s search engine as Kumo. But Microsoft resorted to some brainstorming  and came out with bing. So can we expect to have another possible competitor to Google verb “Googling” in coming times? Would “Binging” verb be able to catch up with Googling in coming times.

Nobody can answer it right now but as it is said competition brings about the best from competing players so bing will possibly add a new dimension in the search market. And would help Microsoft to improves its market share from its present level of 8%. (comScore stats)Microsoft had experimented with MSN search, Live search and Windows live search before now arriving with bing.com.

Microsoft has on bing platform tried to integrate many of its services like Virtual earth mapping platform as bing maps, cash back search incentive program to bing cash back program, probably to present one face of Microsoft.

Whether the bing’s launch at All Things Digital conference in Dallas open up a new chapter in search on internet, time only will tell but users will definitely gain and Google will have a tough time maintaining its market share.
