How much of our time goes in to social networking? How much of our time we tend to waste aimlessly surfing the web?

Social networking sites have seen lots of traffic during last 3-4 years. These sites have turned out to be the cool places on the web to hang out.

Web surfing has a sub-conscious effect on us. The more we surf, the more we pick up. But only to lose it, somewhere down the line.  Disarrayed leads us nowhere. But how much of our time should be spent on surfing?

Last year some universities had decided to limit the internet connectivity in their hostels to enable students concentrate on their studies. It was observed that students would be wasting their precious hours surfing the web late in to night and morning after, will feel groggy. Late night surfing right upto wee hours lead to loss of concentration and poor academic performances.

Young students are advised to not to waste their time on surfing just because they don’t have any other work to do. Some of us nearly spend up to 10-12 hours sitting in front of computers. This kind of continuous working can have disastrous consequences on individuals’ health. There are some healthy computing tips which if can be followed will lead a long way in keeping our body and mind fit.

Our generation will have to weigh their options of frequenting these social networking sites too often. We have to limit our hours on these sites and start looking towards making our web experiences richer and qualitative.
