How to hit the bulls eye – a 5 steps guide to excel in studies; Rule No 3
Rule #3
One question has always been there in the minds of students cutting across geographic boundaries about how many hours of study is sufficient to do well in the studies. We would try to address the issue in this post. First response from ‘Have been community” to this question would be that there can not be any set limits or boundaries to which a student can be tied to. A student should plan and study according to his understanding/IQ and requirement.
While the response is philosophically correct yet for a student it is very difficult to comprehend. A student who is studying in class VII to XII, definitely needs advice from the community who have made big in their life. I would be lying if I say that this question has not haunted me in my early schooling years. During my discussions with accomplished scholars and learned individuals, I have tried to more or less decipher this issue and present a solution which can be easily understood by all the students. My findings are summed up as below. Mind it!, this is a suggestive chart only and school performance depends upon many other factors. Students are expected to judge themselves on factors like IQ, their aspirations and aptitude before they start following this regimen. The numbers mentioned in the table represnts numbers of hours required to be put in by the student per week, apart from their regular homework and examination load:
| CLASS | APRIL-JUNE | JULY-SEPT | OCT-DEC | JAN-MAR |
| VII | 2 | 3 | 5 | 5 |
| VIII | 3 | 4 | 6 | 6 |
| IX | 6 | 6 | 8 | 10 |
| X | 10 | 14 | 21 | 21 |
| XI | 21 | 14 | 21 | 21 |
| XII | 21 | 28 | 28 | 28 |
