Green living is the need of the hour.
- Recycled paper: You can save 15-20 trees with one ton of recycled paper.
- Drive with windows up: You can save lots of fuel when you drive with windows pulled up. This minimizes drag and economizes on the fuel consumed.
- Plug that leak: One leaking tap in the house can waste enough water which if arrested can save water for daily requirement of a family of four.
- Don’t race: While driving race up and down gradually. Don’t race up fast. Matured and sobered driving helps in saving fuel to the extent on 30%.
- Avoid screen savers: World over screen savers have proved to be one of the biggest letdowns for energy conscious people. Screen savers put you in fool’s paradise while keeping your PC consumes lots of power. Putting your PC on and off does not consume any electricity. So go ahead and put your PC off when you are not using it. It may cause a little bit of inconvenience but it will certainly help.
- Wrapping paper from newspapers: wrap your gifts in newspapers to avoid wasting paper which will eventually end up in dustbins.
- Green building: Maximize the usage of sunlight to conserve on electricity. Buildings consume about 30-40% of power generated in developed worlds. Therefore immense potential exists to rein in extravagance in residential as well commercial buildings.
