Google Friend Connect integrates with Blogger
Google has come out with an another feature which integrates Google Friend Connect with Blogger. This feature will enable visitors of the blogs to subscribe to the posts using Yahoo, AIM, Google or other ids. This integration was announced on Google’s Social blog recently.
Google had opened Friend Connect for all other sites just after Facebook Connect was made available for everyone in December 2008. Google Friend Connect can now be displayed on blogger’s sidebar. And Blogger profile page will also carry information about the other blogs that you will be following. This probably will make Blogger a social networking site rather than a blog publishing platform.
A blog, generally represnts an opinion. Overcrowding the blogger space with widgets which are not related to blog topics in general will tantamount to diluting the serenity of blog as a medium of expression. Blog should maintian its purity and be there as a blank canvas which should solely be used for expressing one’s opinion and nothing else. But these features will surely find some takers in blogosphere. The race for supremacy has only just begun. Keep coming back for updates.
