Google has come out with major new update of Chrome. Most of the features were already available in earlier Beta release. The stable release has just made it more authentic and reassuring. Stable releases always have a way of assuring the users that product has been fully tested and tried.
Google has claimed that new release due to the new version of Webkit and update to Javascript engine v8 loads Javascript pages about 30% faster than its earlier stable release.
In addition the new release is more stable with 300 bug fixes integrated in to it. At present Chrome has three releases:
-
Stable, main stream version
-
Beta version
-
Cutting edge developer version.
Another notable feature which has been added in to Chrome’s armoury is “Form AutoFill”. Now as with IE the “AutoFill” feature stores the form details and fills up in to forms as and when particular information is required to be keyed in to the form fields.
Quite often during the live presentations, speakers had wished over doing away of the taskbar, URL address and many other unnecessary details which forms part of Chrome’s browser screen view. This was desired in order to have complete view of the screen down to the last pixel. Now simple pressing of F11 or choosing the Full Screen from Settings dropdown menu would do that.
Chrome has been steadily gaining market share since its launch and touched 1.92% sometime in May 2009. Chrome, leave apart extensions (Firefox feature) is a wonderful browser and the way it has started eating in to the share of IE and Firefox, we are pretty sure that in coming times it would go places.
