Parents are quite perplexed about their choice for CBSE or ICSE curriculum. Both are equally good. No comparison can be drawn. I have gone through syllabi of both of them. The two curriculum give equal emphasis on fundamentals. However, the important thing is how the subject is dealt in the class. Explaining the basics and fundamentals is the responsibilities of teachers. But today we hardly see academically brilliant individuals taking up teaching as the profession. So while the two boards CBSE and ICSE, define the broad outlines, the responsibilities of getting to the depth and understanding fundamentals lies with the students only. There are many resources available today. But I still don’t recommend tutoring. Rather the emphasis should be on self learning. This is because, learning through individual efforts stays long and is more wholesome. Tutoring only sets the direction, journey has to be traversed by the students themselves. So don’t just brood over what you do not have rather focus on what best you can do with what you have.
